This Saturday started like any other day, but as soon as I looked out of the window, I was inspired. So many things had changed. The nature all around me is in full bloom, growing faster than fast because of all the light and warmth. We’re approaching Midsommar, the longest day of the year, and you can definitely tell! I announce this Saturday as Colorday, because there are suddenly so many colors after a long winter. You know that I write long blog posts, with a lot of information, but today is just a short one. I only want to share the abundance of color. I had forgotten how many greens there were. This was a week ago, there were just a few white ‘Vitsippur’ in the foreground, but nothing else.
And today … I could pick wildflowers in different colors. That’s how fast things go here. See how fast the grass has grown? It’s overwhelming.
All those colors inspired me to start mixing milk paint colors, based on Miss Mustard Seed’s Milk Paint’s color line.
The first one in the picture below is Miss Mustard Seed’s Milk Paint newest color in the line: Aviary, just as a reference. The second one is an Aubergine I found when I tried to mix the warm red on Swedish houses. A mistake that I really like!
The third one is inspired by Dalarna blue, or Dalablue as we call it around here. Dalarna is the beautiful region I happen to live in haha. The blue on our shop door is not Dalablue! It’s also very traditional around here but not the same color. The blue I mixed has a hint of green, but not as much green as Miss Mustard Seed’s Kitchen Scale.
Recipe Aubergine: 1/2 Tricycle + 1/2 Curio + 1/2 Mustard Seed Yellow
Recipe Dalablue: 1 Flow Blue + 1/2 Mustard Seed Yellow
What do you think? Are you up for a piece of furniture in Aubergine or Dalablue?
