Hello! I’m Goedele. Creative entrepreneur, mother of two boys and Belgian in Sweden. Whether it was starting up my painting furniture business in Belgium, handing over this business to the new owners and moving 1600 kilometers north to the “dala” (Swedish for valleys) of Sweden to live a slower life: they all were giant leaps of faith, following my intuition and “muses” to live a life that honors my own truth. And that’s how ‘Dala Muses’ was born.
This blog is my creative outlet. I write about creativity as my lifestyle, about my passion for interior décor, painting furniture and environmently friendly & historical furniture paints. You can follow my journey in my new country Sweden, where the preservation of old buildings and traditions, and decorating with antiques, soulful objects and natural elements is such a natural thing. Life on the Swedish countryside is slower than I was used to in Belgium and this highly inspired me to develop a more mindful perspective on life. I’m on a journey to deepen my own creativity and hope I can inspire you with my blog to do the same.
Why I became a business coach for creative entrepreneurs …
Many years ago I felt lost and didn’t know which direction to take in life. Leaving a 9 to 5-job and starting a creative business helped me to find ‘me’ again. What started out as a small painting furniture business grew into a larger undertaking, distributing Miss Mustard Seed’s Milk Paint throughout Europe and supporting a network of more than 60 European creative paint retailers.
Through my business I learnt how to take decisions from the heart, to listen to intuition, to move past fear of failure, to deal with disappointment, to celebrate success, but most of all: to look at my business as so closely connected to my creative identity and my values. This proces wasn’t just about the business, it was also about the person I was becoming.
Along the way I felt that inspiring and supporting other creative entrepreneurs in their own journey was calling me. I started to train with Dr. Eric Maisel, founder of the field of creativity coaching, and I studied the work of Susan Ariel Rainbow Kennedy, known as Sark. I believe in the magic that happens when you follow your own truth and put your business intentionally in alignment with personal values. Creative energy starts flowing and your business will organically grow.
As a business coach with a specialty in creativity I help creative entrepreneurs to build and grow a beautiful business, as a representation of their creative identity. I support them to get in touch with their creativity and muses, to find the answers within and to take their own leaps of faith.
