From Swedish stuga to shop: the renovation

I’m finally ready to share pictures of our shop renovation. The plan to renovate was there since we bought our Swedish house in April 2016. It had an extra (small) building (a stuga), full of charm on the outside, but old and dark on the inside. I was so focused on the end result that I didn’t even bother to take before pictures (which I regret now, ofcourse!).  At that time it was very dark in general in Sweden, so that didn’t really help my motivation to pick up my camera. Loppis, pronounced lop-pis, Swedish for flea market, has become  an important part of my life. I can’t imagine how I lived for almost 37 years without this amount of flea markets or thrift stores in my area. They are everywhere and I love it! I haven’t missed a week of thrift shopping since we moved here. I don’t know all the restaurants or clothing shops in the area, but I do know where the flea markets are.

How to listen to intuition when decorating

Intuitive collage - Dala MusesAt several points in my life I had to take major decisions: should I resign from my 9 to 5-job and start a creative business? Should I move to Sweden? Should I sell my business? Should I start a coaching business? Should I start a blog? I managed my way through all those decisions but oh boy, did I feel some decision anxiety! The one thing that helped me through all this was intuition. I learned how to trust my instincts, to follow my heart.
